Refund Schedule Parameters
- Students requesting refunds for any domestic post-secondary course or program must submit a Great Plains College Refund Request Form along with any applicable supporting documentation to their respective Student Adviser
- Student Adviser will pass on domestic post-secondary refund requests to Admissions and Registration Officer for processing. Where modifications or appeals to the standard terms of the refund schedule exist, the form will be provided to the Manager of Student Services for processing.
- Student will receive notice of whether refund approval or rejection within 10 business days of refund request submission
- Modifications or appeals to the refund schedule for SST programs should be sent in writing to the Vice President of Programs and Students.
- Processing of book and SST refunds will be done at each location by Administrative Assistants.
- Students who are awarded transfer credit will be provided a full refund of course tuition upon approval.
- In the event a student is assessed and diagnosed with a learning disability that was not previously known to the student during the program year and as an accommodation is required to have a reduced course load, all refunds will be provided at 100% during the same program year. No retroactivity to previous program years.
Refund Payments
- In the case of a credit card payment, the refund MUST be issued to the original credit card provided for payment.
- Any deviations from this must be approved by the Accounting Manager. If all efforts have been exhausted and it is deemed impossible to refund to the original payment method, a $20 administrative fee will be charged.
- Please note, if the original payment method was debit, refund to the original debit card OR in the form of cheque are both acceptable
- In the case of cash or cheque, the refund will be issued in the form of a cheque in the student’s name.
Exceptions include:
1) If the seat was partially sponsored by an organization, the applicable refund will be returned to the sponsor organization.
2) If a full-time student withdraws from an entire program and is sponsored by Student Loans, the applicable refund is provided back to Student Loans. If a full-time student withdraws from a course(s), where they still maintain full-time student status, the refund for the course(s) will be returned to the student rather than Student Loans. If a full-time student sponsored by Student Loans is approved for the Sask Training Voucher Program, the student can decide if they want the Student Loan refunded to themselves or back to Student Loans.
3) If a part-time student withdraws from courses and is sponsored by Student Loans, the applicable refund is provided to the student.
Full-time institute credit programs (semester based)
When withdrawal occurs in the first semester, future paid semesters in the same academic year will be fully refunded. In the case of discontinuation, no refund will be available for future paid semesters.
