SWIFT CURRENT, SK – The Great Plains College SunDogs are pleased to present A Dogs’ Breakfast, featuring guest speaker Karl Subban. Proceeds from the event will support the SunDogs Athletics program, including team operations and athletic scholarships.
Subban is the former school principal in one of Toronto’s toughest neighbourhoods, father of five children, including three NHL-drafted players (PK, Malcolm and Jordan), and author of “How We Did It: The Subban Plan for Success in Hockey, School and Life”. He’s dedicated his life to helping others achieve their potential—to be better in their careers and as people. His powerful talk explores teamwork, leadership and what it means to succeed.
“Karl Subban has experienced success in many aspects of his life and offers experience for everyone from student-athletes, to coaches, to the business community,” Mona Patterson, SunDogs athletics and recreation coordinator commented. “We’re thankful for our sponsors and are looking forward to welcoming Mr. Subban to our city to hear him speak and to raise some funds for the SunDogs Athletics program.”
The breakfast will take place Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at 7 a.m., at Living Sky Casino Sky Centre. Tickets are available now for $60 each, or $500 for a table of 10 and can be picked up at Great Plains College or by phoning (306) 773-1531.
Event sponsors Living Sky Casino, Mercator Financial, Pattison Agriculture, Saskatchewan Blue Cross and Stitch Master will be contributing to the event and directly supporting the first Dogs’ Breakfast and the SunDogs Athletics program.
The Great Plains College SunDogs compete in the Prairie Athletic Conference. Since 2006, the program boasts three provincial championships, seven league and provincial awards, five Coach of the Year awards, six Battle of the Southwest championships and 17 provincial All-star Athlete awards.
