SWIFT CURRENT, SK – Tickets are now on sale for the seventh annual Carhartts and Caviar Welding Showcase and Auction presented by S3 Enterprises. The college’s Welding certificate students, alumni, their instructor and local businesses are working hard to complete one-of-a-kind pieces for the February 28 event.
“The annual Carhartts and Caviar event and the preparation that goes into the pieces has become a staple in our Welding certificate program,” welding instructor Jared McKenzie said. “It gives our students a chance to practice the skills they’re learning and to showcase the art of welding, while also helping raise funds to support the program for years to come.”
A bar set, a couch and chair made from a 1952 Ford F3 and a 2018 Broncos WHL Championship piece are among the items that will be displayed and auctioned at the event. There will be 13 pieces auctioned off this year, including a mystery item that will be unveiled after the winning bid is received.
Early bird tickets purchased by February 15 are $40 and can be purchased at the college or by emailing or calling (306) 773-1531. Any remaining tickets past February 15 will be $50.
“We’re grateful for the people and businesses that continue to attend and sponsor this event, which directly supports the Welding program at the college. We can’t wait for another fun evening of food, drink and metal art,” added McKenzie.
This event wouldn’t be possible without the great support of the community and sponsors, including S3 Enterprises, Nutrien Ag Solutions, Anderson & Company, PDQ Autobody and Standard Motors.
