Essential Skills for Newcomers
This program for newcomers will focus on employment readiness and language development skills for the workplace. This includes resume, cover letter and interview skills, courses and certifications for employment, cultural values for the workplace, work placement opportunities and general language acquisition skills. Online Classes (LINC: Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada)
This class provides basic language skills for eligible adult learners who are permanent residents. Students study online or by correspondence and work one-on-one with a TESL certified instructor. In addition to the 1/2 hour weekly instructor session, students commit to 5-7 hours of independent student directed learning per week.
