Entrance Requirements
- Grade 10
- English language requirement
- Applicants must be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident or on a work permit

Swift Current
The part-time program offering runs October 2, 2024-March 12, 2025. Class will run two evenings per week, all day Friday and every other Saturday.
The full-time program offering runs from May-June. Class run during the day Monday through Friday.

• PRNT 114 - Drawing Interpretation
• SFTY 103 - Welding Safety
• WLDR 146 - Oxy-Fuel and Thermal Cutting
• WLDR 147 - Wire Feed Welding Process Theory
• WLDR 164 - Wire Feed Welding Processes Shop 1
• WLDR 165 - Wire Feed Welding Processes Shop 2
This program also includes job readiness training that will cover resume building, interview skills and essential skills for the workplace that will help prepare you for a career in Production Line Welding.
What You Will Learn
In this hands-on program you’ll gain the skills you need for a career in a high volume welding production environment such as a shop or on an assembly line. You’ll focus on the gas metal arc (MIG) welding process, while also learning about blue print reading, cutting processes and trade safety.
Career Opportunities
Welders are employed by companies that manufacture structural steel and platework, boilers, heavy machinery, aircraft and ships and other metal products. You could also continue your training through apprenticeship as a semi-automatic welding production operator.
Earning Potential
In 2022, the wage estimates for full-time welders and related machine operators in Saskatchewan was $20.00-$41.50 per hour, according to the Saskatchewan Ministry of Immigration and Career Training. Employees may earn more or less depending on their employer, location, size of company, apprenticeship training, experience and hours worked. TEST
